One more month to inspire yourself in 2012

Wow, it’s nearly the end of November.  Remember that post I did back in January about New Year’s resolutions?  It was called “Make this year count in a way that is inspiring and meaningful to you!”  How are you doing on it?  You’ve got exactly 1 month to hold true on the things that you said you wanted to do this year.  If you are anything like my family (my sister and step-mom who introduced the tradition), you’re going to pack a bunch into this last month.

I still have a couple of things on my list too.  I am proud to say that I did accomplish the growing zucchini, making a wildflower garden, and making fun placemats and napkins (several pairs).  All I have left are learn a song on the piano and write a short story (which I have started.)

If you recall, the things that you put on your list were put there because they inspired you or perhaps because you always wanted to do them, or they were important or valuable to you in some way.  This is your little pep talk.  You’ve got just over a month left to do those things—you’ll not only make good on your promise to yourself (which is an important thing), you’ll also feel great about accomplishing those things that you’ve always wanted to do.  And, you get to make room for more fun things in 2013.

Personally, I’m looking forward to that moment on December 31st, when I can proudly say, “Yes, I wrote my short story!”  (The only other one I’ve ever written was at the age of 12.)  And, “May I play you a song on the piano!”  Never mind that it is the only one I know!  To me, even if it means I only learn one song per year on the piano—at least I’m doing it!

As I look back on my year and my life it also makes me think of the other surprising accomplishments that happened, and things that I did.  I like thinking about this—I like taking a look at how this year panned out for me.  I like seeing it with a wider lens than the one I am in every day.  It makes me aware of the accomplishments, the still active goals, and the surprising twists that life had in store for me in this particular year.  Do you have any fun twists to share?  (You can post them in a comment to this article.)

Doing this reflection also makes me aware of the things I would like to incorporate into the next year.  I can already think of at least one business goal and a couple of inspirational ones.  I don’t put the business goals on my fun list… but when I’m aware of them, I can take the steps to make them happen.

What have you done this year that you are proud of?

Share with us the accomplishments that inspired you!

There are so many people who can write topbritishessays.com and do so many jobs but they need inspiration because they don't have confidence and we can get more information about this topic in this post and we should share it also.

#4 Self Reflection

Submitted by Anonymous on Thu, 2012-12-27 09:56.

Self reflection is an important tool that transcends culture and personal beliefs. It is an extremely powerful tool, and a year end reflection could be a great meditative exercise in the search for self improvement by self realization. When reflecting I think it is important to keep in mind what happened, happened, and could not have happened any other way. Or as Siddhartha said, "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." This can make the exercise of self reflection less overwhelming for those with higher sensitivity to their actions and the actions of others.

Thank you for your comment.  Yes, that is another way to approach the end of the year and one I find satisfying as well.  Reflect on!
